Outer Aberdeen Branch

Hi, welcome to the Cats Protection Outer Aberdeen Branch website!
Smiley cat!

I updated our Homing Page today (23rd July), why don't you have a look at our lovely kitties.

One of our volunteers, Gail, took part in The Great Scottish Walk on the 22nd June 08. Here is her result:

Dear all

Just a quick email to say that the deed was completed on Sunday past and I did the 7 miles in 1 hour and 15mins approx. I would also like to add that I was one of the first 20 over the finishing line so was chuffed to bits! I have not yet managed to count my total in full as some people are offering last minute donations to my sponsor form, however, I have made in excess of £200.00 so am really pleased for the SSPCA who will benefit from your worthwhile donations. As for myself, well I throughly enjoyed the walk around our capital city and the rain even stayed off whilst other parts of the country were suffering gale force winds, rain and thunderstorms.

Anyway, I would encourage everyone to do this as it was a good day and secondly, expect a begging email again next year as I aim to do it again and if I'm extra fit I will go for the 12 miles!

Gail x

If you would still like to donate, please click here.

Gail has recently sent me a thank you to all those who have already donated.

I have received a lovely update on one of our homed cats, Ramsey (formerly known as Toby) from Sarah. Have a look at Ramseys story.

If you have never owned a cat before and are concerned about taking on a cat without any experience, CP will be happy to give you as much advice and support as you need. After all, our primary aim is to match cats with people, and if you need help you will find that we have HEAPS of experience that we will gladly pass on. Please give us a call on 01224 782207 to discuss any aspect of cat care.

All Cats Protection cats are vet checked to ensure they are healthy, they are vaccinated, neutered (if they are old enough) and assessed for personality. We evaluate your needs and try to ensure that we find you your perfect partner. After all, we hope you'll be together for a very long time! If you want to find out more about any of our cats for homing, please call the number on the web page.

Note that there is a new section on the Homing Page for Private Homing. These are private individuals that need to re-home their own cat(s) for some reason. We have agreed to advertise them on our site, but please note that these are NOT Cats Protection cats and do NOT come with the same guarantees that we make for our own cats. If you take one of these Private Homing cats, please contact the original owner with any queries or problems.

Can I Help?

The short answer is Yes! We have many opportunities for people to help us out, and it will only be for a couple of hours a week or even a couple of hours a month. It's not much time to give up and you'll meet lots of new people. Please have a look at Support Us to see whether there is anything you would like to help out with.

Lost & Found

Did you know that only a small percentage of lost cats are ever reunited with their owners? Why don't you have a look at our tips for maximising your chances of getting your furry friend back if he goes missing. We have also reproduced an interesting article from The Cat magazine on lost cats.

Please note that Lost & Found is a message service, i.e. leave a message on the voicemail with your name and telephone number, and someone will call you back. The voicemail is checked every day and calls are generally returned that evening.

Our Website

This site is a "work in progress" (and feels like it might be such forever!). Some of the links don't work yet as those parts of the site aren't yet developed. If you have any suggestions about the sort of things that you'd like to see on the site, please email me. After all, this site is here for you. Please tell me what you'd like to see on it.

Please have a look at the site and check back regularly for any updates.

Any comments regarding the site design, layout, ease of use, etc. will be welcomed. Please email me with your feedback.

Thank you.
