Cats Protection Cats

All cats taken into the care of Cats Protection are vet checked to ensure they are healthy, they are vaccinated, neutered (if they are old enough) and assessed for personality. We evaluate your needs and try to ensure that we find you your perfect partner. After all, we hope you'll be together for a very long time!

Please note that we are usually only able to home in our branch area, although we may be able to home in a surrounding branch with their permission. Please click here to view the Aberdeenshire branch areas. If you live in another area, please go to the main Cats Protection website, where you will be able to contact your local branch by clicking on Find Us on the left side of the page.

We do not home kittens to families with young children, as kittens have needle-like teeth and claws and are liable to scratch and bite, especially when poked and prodded by little fingers! We DO however home adult cats to families with small children as adult cats will usually tolerate children quite happily.

We also do not home individual kittens to people who work full-time, as they require a lot of attention when they are tiny, and don't like to be left on their own as they feel very insecure and frightened, and this can lead to aggressive behaviour.

If you have never owned a cat before and are concerned about taking on a cat without any experience, CP will be happy to give you as much advice and support as you need. After all, our primary aim is to match cats with people, and if you need help you will find that we have HEAPS of experience that we will gladly pass on. Please give us a call on 01224 782207 to discuss any aspect of cat care.

Note that we have a section at the bottom of the page for Private Homing and a section for Working Cats.

Following a suggestion from Vicki, who was interested in one of our cats, I have added a key to the right of each cat to indicate whether:

Each symbol will tell you what it means if you hover your mouse over it. Alternatively, click on it for the key.

Cats that are shown together because they are siblings may not necessarily be homed together.
If any of them take your fancy, please ask.

To enquire about giving one of these lovely cats a home, please phone (01224) 782207.

We may also have other cats or kittens in care that have not made it on to the website yet,
so please call to find out if we have any other cats/kittens available.

Working Cats

Working Cat

We have a few working cats in care. These cats are not suitable for domestic homes, but would be ideal for stables, farms and areas with mouse or rat problems.
They will certainly keep any pests under control!

Although not suitable for domestic homing, these are still CP cats and will have been neutered (if over 12 weeks old) and microchipped.

These working cats will require only some food and shelter. They are available in pairs but can be homed in larger groups if required.

To enquire about giving one of these hard-working cats a home and a living, please phone (01224) 782207.
